Putnam City Families, Faculty and Staff,

Recently, there has been widespread local and national coverage surrounding immigration status in the United States that could potentially impact public education, our students, families, faculty, and staff.

We recognize that these uncertain times have sparked feelings of fear and apprehension among some of our students, families, and staff. It is important for us, as a District, to acknowledge these concerns while reinforcing our unwavering commitment to providing a safe and inclusive environment for every student. This commitment is at the core of our District’s vision statement. We also remain steadfast in our statutory and constitutional duty to educate all students, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, or immigration status. Further, the immigration status of families is not taken at enrollment; therefore, there are no records kept regarding the immigration status of parents or students.

As a District, we want to focus on what is within our control: ensuring that Putnam City Schools continue to be a safe and nurturing space where students can thrive, and where faculty and staff can inspire and empower in welcoming and safe schools. We will remain loyal in our dedication to providing an education for every student who resides within our District boundaries.

Thank you for your continued support of our great District.

Boldly,

Putnam City Schools Administration
